The iPhone functions as a phone capable of text messaging that has a visual voice mail, camera, portable media player, and web browser. These things together make the iPhone a successful model that most people love. The iPhone has been so successful that it is on its fourth model. With a lowering price and everything the phone has to offer it has become very popular. In the few years the iPhone has been out it has sold a total of a total of 73.5 million units. Clearly the iPhone is an amazing piece of technology that many people love. The iPhone Battery though leaves much to be desired. The battery of the iPhone Battery is rechargeable but not user-replaceable. If it stops working a new one can only be gotten by sending your iPhone into apple paying their set price and waiting to get it back. The Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights has sent a complaint to AT&T and Apple over the fee that consumers have to pay to have the battery replaced. Some programs have started to combat the high price that is being charged by Apple for these batteries. They sell kits online for a much cheaper price that allow consumers to put in a new battery themselves. These kits include a small screwdriver, a battery, and instructions. In what almost seems like a direct attack on the kit companies though Apple has begun soldering the iPhone battery into the newer models. Now a soldering iron is needed if the user wants to replace the battery themselves. Why worry about the battery? After all, the iPhone Battery is warranted for a year after all. Beyond the warranty Apple has rated the battery to be at 80% afr 400 charges with six to two hundred and fifty hour life per charge depending on what is being done. Several technology journalists have stated that Apples' claims about the batteries life are not true. In fact, a J.D Power and Associates customer satisfaction survey gave the battery aspects of the iPhone 3G two out of five stars. The best option to keep your weak battery going all day is an iPhone battery extender. It’s a little or big battery pack that you simply plug into your iPhone and it will charge it anywhere anytime. They range from doubling your battery capacity to being able to charge your iPhone 5 or more times over. Jason Creed is a tech geek and writes professional reviews of the iPhone battery extenders and also reviews wireless speakers.
