If you are searching for a unique and hot toy for your elementary school-aged daughter this Christmas which doesn't contain chocolate and sugar, a Monster High Dolls playset may be just what you are interested in. For those who aren't familiar, Monster High dolls were released by Mattel in the summer of 2010 and have become must-have toys for many girls. A Monster High doll set comes with the doll, obviously, which is in essence a Barbie-sized teenage monster doll that's based on a character from a classic horror motion picture and boasts flexible legs and arms, the pet of that doll, a journal, some other small add-ons, and a doll stand. The back of each and every doll's package supplies the owner with some history and biographical information on the doll. At the moment, Mattel has released a total of half a dozen dolls: Draculaura, daughter of Dracula; Laguna Blue, daughter of the Sea Monster; Clawdeen Wolf, daughter of the Werewolf; Frankie Stein, daughter of Frankenstein; and Cleo De Nile, daughter of the mummy, and Deuce Gorgon, son of Medusa, who are sold as a set...they are evidently the "it" couple at Monster High. Each doll exhibits characteristics that associate her or him to the monster mother or father. Frankie Stein includes stitches, Clawdeen Wolf sprouts fangs and ears, and Laguna Blue is adorned with fins. And, as earlier mentioned, each doll is associated with its ideal pet. Such as, Draculaura carries a pet bat, and Cleo De Nile cares for a pet snake. Mattel does suggest the Monster High Dolls set for children ages six and over due to the small pets and accessories and the simple fact that the arms and legs of the dolls are detachable. Indeed, you read that previous statement correctly; the hands and arms on Monster High dolls are detachable. Why? Well, the dolls are monsters, and that apparently speaks for itself; nonetheless, more practically, those who own the dolls claim that it can make the dolls quicker to dress up. Besides the Monster High Dolls sets, Mattel has constructed several other Monster High toys, particularly stuffed dolls, and has even made a Monster High website, which has character bios, games, downloadable audio, in addition to Monster High webisodes. Up to now, one can find 15 webisodes available for viewing. Monster High, the novel, premiered September 1, 2010, the sequel is anticipated in September 2011, and future novels are anticipated in the years following. As with most books and films, the assortment of dolls and other accessories will eventually expand as time passes. Other figures that appear on the Monster High website as well as in webisodes include Ghoulia Yelps, Holt Hyde and Jackson Jekyll; all these figures are sure to appear as collectible dolls in the foreseeable future.
