Like other children, orphans should not be ripped off of opportunities to grow into fine people. It is important they receive care like any other child as they can be the leaders of tomorrow. In able to help them realize this potential, there are ways for us to be involved so that they will grow up as good people. One of the things you can do is to become their friend and counselor. Children often need emotional support, what more orphans. They need to know that there are people they can turn to and that they are not on their own. Being a friend to them also allows them to feel accepted, as they may feel rejected by the condition they are in. Becoming a teacher for them is also a way to help them. As their time in school would be limited, the rest of the time would be spent on their own among themselves. For them to mix among themselves means limited exposure to everything else in life. Becoming a teacher for them means you teaching them to discover the things around them, apart from school subjects. In the meantime, you can become a role model for them to look up to. The least participative thing you can do is by giving (instead of donating) basic items for survival or things they can have fun with. For children, play can be one of the greatest methods of enhancing their creativity. Instead of allowing them to find their creativity through naughty means, providing them with a positive source lets them channel the creativity towards it. Of course, giving a variety of basic items like food and clothes are important too so that they can have a taste of life. One should not pamper them too much with gifts, just as with other children, or else they may be reliant on people instead of independently working to attain something.
