The Sun is the only Grah (planet) whose rays and radiations can be felt by a living being and thus why it is considered as the soul of all the living beings and astrologically when it goes into debilitation i.e. when it starts its transit in the Tula Rashi( Libran Sign) the benefices associated with it is reduced to a great extent or broadly get reversed . This means that the transit of Sun in Libran sign shall not shower positivity to the natives as the Sun in a friendly sign would do. This transit of Sun over the Libran sign shall be more critical when the Sun passes through the Swati or Vishakaha Nakshatra or constellation. The Sun starts affecting the native with more seriousness and the results so produced on the individual are often irreversible. This is severe results produced by this transit is because of the fact that the lord of Swati and Vishakha Nakshatra are Rahu and Guru respectively and the Sun already in its debilitation can do nothing but to show these extreme results. The festival of Chhat is the festival devised in the early Vedic ages to extract positivity out of the debilitated Sun and who else than the Son of Sun could have devised this Pooja. It is belived that Sh Karna, the son of Sun, ruler of Anga Desh had devised this festivel in the Mahabharata times and since then it had been religiously followed. It is observed on the 6th day of the waxing moon of the month of Kartik in the Hindu calendar. The word Chhath is also a compound of two words: "Chah" meaning "six stages", and "Hath" refers to the science of Hath Yog (asceticism). The word Chhath refers to the process of consciously obtaining the solar energy through six stages involving the methods of Hath Yog. "Hath" here refers to the austerities such as fasting and standing in water. The rituals of the festival are rigorous and are observed over a period of four days. They include holy bathing, fasting and abstaining from drinking water , standing in water for long periods of time, and offering prasad (prayer offerings) and aragh (water) to the setting and rising Sun. In these four days the body of the devotee becomes detoxified and pious and if all the hymns and the procedures are religiously followed then the devotee makes a contact with the sun God who in turn starts bestowing his devotee with extreme energy which starts radiating in his body. The devotee no longer needs the physical intake of food and water for his upkeep, and this was how the ancient yogis went without the food and water for days together. So start observing this sacred festival of Chhat and see for your self how your body starts beaming with energy and confidence.
