Global Mission Global Mission is the Adventist Mission's main mission arm. The organization is responsible for sending across volunteer missionaries to those regions of the world where there no Seventh - day Adventist members. Generally, global mission members are sent for a period of one or two years and are expected to deliver certain duties for which they are sent for. The pioneers of global mission are working round the clock to ensure that they are able to spread "love of Christ" to even those regions of the world that are hard to navigate. The global mission was founded in 1990 with an intention of reaching out to people with the gospel. The workers in this mission are known to work well within their language and cultural group. The global mission is known to sponsor people, also referred to as pioneers. These pioneers choose to volunteer in those regions of the world that is least touched upon for a period of at least one year. They are further required to create a congregation and work within their culture. These pioneers have an added advantage of understanding the culture inside out and working closely with known people and understanding their language. It is estimated that there are more than 2500 pioneers working solely for global mission around the world. And since their inception, the global mission pioneers have founded more than 11000 congregations. Further more, the pioneers in this mission are known to share gospel via holistic ministry. And this includes, running literacy programs, caring for the sick, giving bible studies, imparting agricultural skills and holding evangelistic meetings. Plenty of study centers have been created by global mission to research more about different people groups and understand their beliefs. The basic idea behind all these concepts is to share the learning amongst many Adventists. Interestingly, these global mission centers are those that specialize in teaching Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism. By trying to bridge gaps through friendship and understanding the mission tries to mingle with different people and tries to understand their philosophies in a much better way. And by understanding the methods, approaches, and models of different religions research and experiment can be effectively carried out by global mission.
