Most new cigar smokers may not realize there are some accessories that will add to your smoking enjoyment. The first thing you will want to consider is a cigar cutter to prepare the cigar for smoking. Sure you could bite off the end, but you will realize as you spend more money on cigars you want to enjoy them with a proper cut for the best smoking draw. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on a cutter and in fact many can be found for fewer than 5 bucks. The next item you may consider is a lighter to light your cigar. Sure you can use matches, and some smokers even like the cleanness of a wooden match stick for a clean, fluid free light, but once outside, in any kind of wind, you will see the benefits of a good gas lighter will come in very handy. Today’s new lighter has a clean gas and not the old lighter fluid we are used to using 20 years ago. Many good lighters can be found under a dollar and may be cheaper than matches in the long run. The next item you may consider is a good cigar ashtray. Ashtrays for cigars offer a large resting place for your stogie and more ash area as cigars generate more ashes than cigarettes. Setting your cigar down will become apparent as you pair your smoking pleasure with a good cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or a fine glass of cognac. Once you start smoking you will soon be collecting different brands to try and will need a place to store your stogies in a safe place in a controlled environment to prevent moisture, or dryness to change the smoking characteristics. Also, keeping them safe from bugs and insects, as this is an organic, leafy substance bugs will enjoy. A humidor is one where going cheap may cost you more in the long run, so spend the proper amount for the best cigar protection. The last item you might consider a nice travel case. This will protect your stogies while traveling for work, vacation, or anywhere you travel. A hard case shell is the cigars best friend and is reasonably priced. The size depends on how much you smoke, how long you plan to travel, or how many you just want to have on hand for your trips. All of these items may not be required, but all of them will add to your cigar smoking enjoyment over time. Don’t jump into buying everything at once if you’re a new smoker. Instead, talk to other smokers, see what they use and ask many questions. Soon you will discover a need for a better cigar cutter, cigar lighter, cigar ashtray, cigar humidor, and cigar case.
