Standards and intelligent green buildings IEC President Jacques? Mr. Regis ISO Main Xi Hakan? Mr. Mo Erbi ITU Secretary-General to all Nepalese Hama? Tuerboshi 2008 World Standards Day Message Today's world, both developed and developing countries, there are growing trends in urbanization, the trend for new buildings put forward higher requirements. As we all know, the world's population growth since 1950 has doubled, therefore, meet the growing needs of the global population has become critical. Needless to say, the construction industry has grown into one of the world's largest industry, and economic, social and environmental elements of sustainable development has a huge impact. Critical period of development in the construction industry, an urgent need for us to green ideas and information and communication technologies combined together to build energy-saving, safe, convenient communication, intelligent building. IEC, ISO and ITU to develop international standards for us this hope into reality, and on a global scale to create the conditions for the effective promotion. Today, government, business and civil requirements to fire a new type of buildings, flood control, vulnerability to natural disasters and prevent terrorist attacks, to improve energy efficiency and reduce the negative impact on the environment, but also requires the ability to more easily access information and communication network and to give full consideration to the elderly or disabled ease of use. Both for individuals, organizations and even countries, building assets in their possession and occupy a large proportion. Construction industry has provided a large number of employment opportunities. From an environmental point of view, the building is not only a huge consumer of natural resources, but also a large number of producers of waste and pollutants. As the building materials and construction process and construction workers will be living or working in which people produce health and safety implications, so the quality is good or bad the building and is closely related to people's quality of life. IEC, ISO and ITU standards, is all the countries and stakeholders to participate in the international context of development in accordance with the principle of consensus out and encourage the implementation of these standards worldwide. These international standards, in the mitigation of climate change, energy conservation, Uniform Building and related products and indicators of environmental terminology, environmental self-declaration, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions measurement and testing in areas such as designers, architects, engineers, building owners and government departments, development of green building to provide a solid foundation. IEC, ISO and ITU standards will be adopted by the green and intelligent buildings together, and to promote the new building to meet these two requirements. Application of digital information networks more and more electronic equipment into the buildings, such as lighting, heating system and security system, remote control is to make "intelligent building" a reality. In addition to the international standards covering various technologies, but also a clear interaction between the building and safety, enhance the value of the building and bring consumers more choice, making different products, services, and comprehensive utilization of resources possible, eventually promoting the development and progress of the construction market. IEC, ISO and ITU to develop international standards for application in today's buildings, can improve efficiency, optimize resources, disseminate knowledge, facilitate free trade and fair competition, but also to simplify the planning and design of the building. IEC, ISO and ITU international standards is also beneficial to provide a more price-competitive products and services, achieve higher quality and safety performance, lower development costs, reduced accidents and rapid dissemination of new technology to improve occupant quality of life. International standards not only ensure the basic quality and safety of the building, but also through the intelligent use of new technologies to protect the construction and operation of green buildings.
