Bloggers do not usually focus their attention on Utah SEO (search engine optimization). Instead, they would rather just focus on writing quality content and hope to get a lot of traffic that way. The problem with this strategy is that there are thousands of blogger pages full of quality content, and without SEO, search engines and viewers alike do not know the difference between your blog and the next. There are tons of blogs out there with quality content that never get read because the writer never bothered with SEO. Just a few minor adjustments in the writing process could put these blogs higher up in search engine ranks.

One of the most important things you can do when writing on your blog is to keep it simple. Start by writing that quality content you love so much, then go through and add key words and phrases for the search engines to pick up.

Divide your focus into two different parts: offsite and onsite Utah SEO techniques. Offsite SEO is when other people put links on their websites that lead to your blog. Every time someone clicks on those links, it builds your search engine ranking. So the more links you can get out there that lead to your blog the better. Every link to your blog that is seen by search engines is like having someone vouch for you and saying, “This blog really is important.”

But how do you go about getting people to add links to their website that lead to your blog? You have no control over their sites, so they have to do it of their own free will. The best way is to write content that people will actually want to read and refer their friends to. You can also solicit links with others or sign up for different link building programs. You can even buy text links on other sites, but why spend money when you can build inbound links the natural way as others link to your quality content?

Never spam other bloggers and beg them for links. That strategy will never work, and it could only get you into trouble. Instead, write a quality post on a topic that you know people will be interested in, and then politely leave notes on other bloggers’ sites letting them know about your post. Do not be offended if they decide not to link to it, but in most cases they will. In addition to the direct traffic that link generates, it will also help build your reputation with search engines and increase your rankings.

Another great way to generate inbound links and drive traffic to your blog is to submit your links to online directories. Submit links to key pages with appropriate keywords in the links. The Internet is full of online directories that let you post your links for free.

More and more bloggers have started to join blog networks so they can enjoy the benefits of multiple sites and writers working together. The greatest advantage to blog networks is that they usually all link to one another. This gives you complete control over how your sites are linked to and from multiple domains. However, you should be careful with this approach. If all of your sites are hosted on the same server, the search engines will find out and penalize you for it.

Professional web designers like to purchase links from other relevant sites that have high search engine rankings. If you plan on taking this route, be careful. Google has been limiting the use of purchased links and penalizing people who do it too much.

As part of the blogging community, you have access to hundreds of other bloggers who might be willing to swap links with you. These swaps can either be very casual (you see someone linking to you so you link back), or it can be a formal swap where you have strategically selected which type of blogs you want your links on. This strategy also needs to be limited, because Google monitors it pretty closely. Be smart about inbound linking.
