El Gouna in Egypt is the epitome of a diver's paradise. Boasting year-round good weather, a range of beaches and a host of both water and non-water based activities, the area is something of a haven for those who cannot get enough of aquatic wonders. Self-catering holidays are the perfect way to enjoy this premium resort, which was created back in the 1990s. The area has a great selection of things to do, however it is so easy to do virtually nothing but dive if that is what you are looking for. Those keen to see the impressive Red Sea coral reefs may be best off heading down to Zeytuna beach, which is situated on an island in its own right. Those looking for a higher-speed water activity can take a trip to Mangroovy beach, which is the main centre for kitesurfing in the area. It also has a range of other sports on offer, including beach volleyball and snorkelling, which are ideal if you want a break from diving or if you are travelling with non-diving friends or family members. If you are keen to experience more of the town during your diving trip, there are plenty of options available. From a wide range of shops to premium golf courses, there is something to suit everyone. Those travelling with smaller children have an excellent range of activities on offer to them. The little ones can take diving lessons, too, or they can visit the aquarium, museum or the exciting go-karting course. Divers cannot fail to be impressed by the treasure trove of sights available at this beautiful Red Sea resort. The area is hugely passionate about the activity and that really comes through to those visiting the area.
