Cardiff is a lot closer than you think and is a wonderful place for a long weekend or as a gateway to visit the rest of Wales, a city that is well worth a visit on any European tour, or as a starting place for a longer stay in Wales and the stunning natural beauty found there. It's only a two hour train journey from London and fares can be had at great prices with just a little forward planning and booking, Paddington to Cardiff Central at 125mph is by far and the way the easiest way capital city to capital city. The airport is well connected to town, but not quite as convenient as the train, there are many discount coaches that connect directly to the English international airports of Heathrow and Gatwick, these can be an easy option, but do take a little longer at about three and four hours respectively. Cardiff is also known as "Europe's Youngest Capital City", it has grown from a small fishing village to its current size in only 75 years, mostly based on the back of coal exportation, but it has maintained this small town charm, there are not many friendlier places that I know of. Small doesn't mean nothing to do, shopping, nightlife, theatre, art and of course rugby are all found easily in the town, especially in the City Centre, and in Cardiff's Maritime Quarter at Mermaid Quay, dozens of places serve the needs of visitors. The city also offers access to the stunning beaches of south Wales, miles of sand and quiet walks, and just five miles south is the attractive seaside town of Penarth, home to many great restaurants and bars. All in all a charming, unhurried place to recharge the batteries and plan the next adventure. http://www.walesmotorhomes.com
