This is the most commonly asked question among most beginners. The reason why they are asking is not just because they like to know the answer but also execute the answer in such a way that everytime they play golf, they are able to execute a perfect golf swing and not make any unnecessary or unforeseeable mistakes be it in tournaments or just playing with friends. It all boils to your mind. Because even if you know the answer, are you willing to do what it takes to achieve that? More importantly, are you willing to set aside 1 or 2 hours every day doing that so that you can achieve your goals faster? No matter how busy you are in school, work or some family or friends commitment, will you be committed to do the necessary things each and every single day? Now that is where many beginners fall short. They know very well that in order to execute a perfect golf swing, they need an experienced instructor and consistent practice. But they allow other things which seem to be important but are not really important to distract them from what is really important. They can give excuses that they are just ordinary normal people who are not like world class golfers such as Tiger Woods. Yet they find it difficult to stay committed to the goals they should set aside because of their daily distractions. If the process of getting things done is not going well, it will be difficult to achieve anything and they will find themselves not getting anywhere and always back to square one. Apart from having the right instructor and consistent practice, you need to find what works best for you, what you are most comfortable with and stick to that method. At the same time, read some books or watch some online videos on golf such as Youtube to pick some helpful pointers and develop from there. It pays to know all these. Before practising, you need to do 2 other important things. Such as warming up your muscles and posture as well as being familiar with your instructor has taught you. You need to make sure that everything is well in line and you are on the same channel with the instructor before you start executing your practise plan. To give your swing more power upon striking the golf ball with your club, you cannot simply rely on your eyes and arm power. You should use your entire body and keep yourself firmly balanced on the ground at the point of swinging and just before striking the ball. If you miss or unable to do any of these, the chances of getting your shot wayward are very high. That is the last thing any golfer will want because it affects their performance and morale. With good balance and evenly utilization of your body, you will find your swinging to be much more effective. You can start off by hitting some balls with your feet roughly six inches apart. Not only practising this way helps to keep you greatly balanced, it also enables you to keep up with your pace upon hitting the ball. If you can place your body weight on the inside of your right foot and bend your knee slightly while swinging your club backwards, that will also be helpful in improving golf swings. Your right knee becomes more solid if you keep doing this day in and day out. Best of all, you will have a cutting edge over most beginners especially those making the common mistake of allowing their left knees to give way to their legs. Perfecting your golf swing takes a lot of time and patience. That is precisely why I say it all boils down to your mind.
