Amsterdam is noted for its highly efficient and quick public transport, which runs from early in the morning, so your best bet is to hop on a tram to Aalsmeer. The auction takes place in a selling room which could be better compared to a huge warehouse - you could fit some 120 football pitches in the auction space. A day in Aalsmeer at the fascinating flower auction can be topped off with a romantic and relaxing row around the town's Westeinder lakes, which are also perfect for sailing and swimming. A city break to a youth hostel in Amsterdam is a great way to spend a few days away.
