Does this firm offer the total package, such as storage, claims handling or uncrating. Is it the same as the original company? 4. For long distance moves that require your goods to be left somewhere overnight, what security is in measure, who provides it and who owns it? Be sure to use a firm that uses vans designed for household possessions moving and storage. 5. Does the removals firm have a Workers' Compensation Board certificate? If not, you may end up forking out for any employee injuries during the home move. An estimate is possibly not a question you will forget, but it is worthwhile reminding you. Make sure you have an estimate from each firm and examine the prices against the services they give. For the estimate the firm will need to know the exact location of your new home and the address the goods are being transported from. Information wanted by the firm to give an accurate estimate will also include any access difficulties in or around the new property. To avoid being charged more later on, give the moving company as much information as possible. Be sure to get estimates and all other assurances in writing, containing the delivery date, as well as the full name of the person you communicated with.
