A dream ride for me, or any hardcore, casual or aspiring biker for that matter, would be the Harley Davidson XR1200 Sportster. And mine just came true. Getting the call to collect the bike for a review was like winning a lottery… short-lived it may be but well worth every moment of it. This bike has haunted many dreams and it becomes a reality only for a selected few. The seduction of the bike is not helped what with the cult culture it has gained over the years. Every serious biker wants one. My lucky ticket was the Harley Davidson XR1200 Sportster and believe me, this was a truly emotion-evoking experience. To me, from the moment I collected the bike, sat on it, ignited the engine, rode it until I returned it a few days later, the memory will forever be etched in my mind. An icon of sorts, the aura that surrounds the Harley Davidson bike is unmistakeable. Igniting the mean machine itself is music to the ear, while the rumble of the ride leaves even the untrained curious. It is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Despite conforming to the sounds standards of today, the engine roars as soon as you start the engine, it is truly music to one’s ear.
