While leafing through my free, 64 page catalog listing the finest premium cigars and cigar accessories available (courtesy of the famed Famous Smoke Shop, of course), I came across the section on Arturo Fuente cigars. Normally my tastes run to Cohiba, but I wanted to have a selection of good cigars that I could smoke at my leisure without worrying about breaking the bank. Yes, in these times, like everyone else I’m looking at budgeting, at least with my day to day smokes. The Cohiba’s are still in my humidor for weekends and special occasions, but I’ve come to quite enjoy lighting up an Arturo Fuente when the mood strikes. No-one says that cutting back a bit means having to give up a premium experience, right? It was only a few years ago that my investments were doing well and I was able to install a second humidor in my den. It was a beautiful model: the Wellington, by Diamond Crown, in cherry with cedar lining. Like all of my cigar collection and paraphernalia, I ordered that beauty through Famous Smoke Shop, saving $175 off the retail price in the process. I wasn’t really aware of Arturo Fuente cigars at that point, since money was flowing rather freely and I tended to shop at the top price points in the Famous Smoke catalog. I liked to experiment with Davidoff, Graycliff, Winston Churchill and, of course, Cohiba. Then the bottom fell out of the real estate market, the stock market tanked and I had to make some tough choices about discretionary spending. Cigars had become something of a passion, though, a way of relaxing after a hard day of working and I really didn’t want to give them up. One of my golfing buddies suggested I try out Arturo Fuente, saying that I really wouldn’t feel like I was missing out with these. It was worth considering but I wanted another opinion. I logged onto famous-smoke.com and checked out what its customers had to say about Arturo Fuente cigars. I was impressed. The Arturo Fuente 858 was rated 91 (out of a possible 100) based on the feedback of 92 customers. You can’t go wrong when 92 cigar aficionados rate something that highly. With a box of 25 being offered for only $105.99 (nearly $15 below retail price), these cigars cost just over four bucks each. Problem solved, Arturo Fuente cigars on week days, Cohibas on the weekend and I don’t have to compromise. About The Author: Michael Vandenstockt appreciates a good cigar and his latest discovery has been Arturo Fuente. Although not quite up to the standard of his preferred cigars by Cohiba, they make for an affordable alternative, while still offering a premium experience. According to Michael, it’s hard to find a better everyday smoke than Arturo Fuente cigars, but if you’d like to suggest another brand that he should try, he’d love you to drop him a line by using the following contact information: Address: 1100 Conroy Place Easton, PA 18040 610-559-7000 x115 Phone #: 610-559-7000 x115
