The Weber grill is a properly crafted grill. You don't feel that they've skimped on components when these folks built this. Assembling the grill was only challenging when fitting the base ring for the ash catcher however once I got beyond that, it was smooth. The metallic grate for the briquets is great for allowing air to come up underneath the coals, helping keep them hot, which the cooking grate is cleverly constructed, with 2 sides able to be switched up so that you can increase more charcoal if you desire to. The 2 handles on the cooking grate make it easy to move the grate. The wheels make it straightforward to roll the grill around, though I would have recommended rubber wheels as compared to plastic wheels. The only complaint I have concerning this grill is that the handle for the lid can get really scorching when it's been sitting on the grill for a while. You can fix this by wearing a grilling hot pad when removing the lid. I'm not certain if a wood handle would make a big difference. Just a insignificant problem. The large cooking grate isgreat. I can organize all kinds of things on the grill at one time and it is not going to matter where it is placed, if you spread out your coals consistently, everything cooks great whether on the borders of the edge of the grate or on the heart of the grate. I attribute this to the Weber plan and the grill's flexibility to distribute heat equally and well. If you're trying to make a decision between the gold and the silver Weber grills, make no mistake that this is the better decision case closed. The ash plate on the silver model will most likely fill up with ash rapidly, not to mention it is a potential fire hazard if hot charcoal bits fall off the side of the ash plate.
