Move House Yourself Without Difficulties

Real Estate,Home Improvement
Have you made the decision to move home on your own? In that case, let's talk about the numerous decisions involved in the steps of a do-it-yourself move.

Moving home is an Anxious Time, so let's look at that before we go any further.

When moving home, anxiety can be a big factor in everything you do. While some people can handle the stress easily. The way you deal with tension is not just down to the type of person you are.

Try following these ideas to make the moving go more smoothly:

1. Search around for moving supplies, these will be essential to pack away all your items, buy cheap supplies if you can't borrow them. In advance of your home move, buy or borrow boxes, paper, bubble wrap, old blankets and anything else you can think of to aid with packing.

2. Packing up your possessions takes a lot of time and energy, start the packing weeks before the move. Last minute packing is only going to inflate the stress levels. It's a great idea to make sure all the packing is done at least 24 hours before you move house, this allows you time to pack all those last minute belongings. Items such as kitchen bits and bobs, DVD's and other less used belongings should be packed first, after all you're unlikely to need them until you move to your new house. As the day you move house gets nearer, the more you have packed ahead of time the less you have to worry about.

3. Moving properties is a brilliant way to have a clear out of all those items that never get used. When packing, go through all your belongings and pick things you do not need, for example those magazines you've been keeping for three years. You can either throw these belongings away or simply gift them to someone.

4. Keep a list - this is one of the most crucial things to think about when you are moving properties yourself. Lists help you keep track of what you are supposed to be doing - make sure the lists include things like things to go out and buy, to sell, to move, to dispose of. Lists are a strong stress supporter on moving day.

Preparation for Moving Day

You are probably going to need help to load your car or truck and off load it at your new home, so rally friends and family for this job. You will be very shocked how much faster the moving goes with few extra helpers. To say you appreciate the support, you could arrange for sandwiches and drinks to be prepared to your willing helpers. By doing this your supporters are calmer, and the job gets completed quicker and tempers don't rise. Children are another thing to discuss when the big day arrives. See if you can get a friend to take your kids away for the day so they are not in the way. Do allow them to watch their bedroom being packed and let them keep a couple of their toys to play with during the moving day. If you have a family animal, make sure they have another place to go on moving day if at all possible. Pets can get travel sick, so make sure you take extra care when transporting them. Also, pack your family pet's belongings separately so it can be unpacked right away at your new house. When you are travelling make sure your family pet is never left unattended. Just like kids, pets need to be kept close, so make sure you have a leash handy if you have to stop.

Truck Hire - How to find a good business

Often, your car will not be spacious enough to transfer all of your belongings to your new home and you'll probably have to rent a truck. Vehicle rental experience is to a great extent dependent on you. When leasing a van make sure you take note of the following:

1. First make sure you pick the correct size van needed to move your belongings. Don't Forget, your vehicle should be spacious enough to accommodate 10-15% more than what you own. This extra room makes sure you have enough room and are not left with items that don't fit in. If you don't have enough room then your stress levels are going to be massive while you scrabble around trying to find extra transport.

2. Don't be tricked into thinking all prices are the same, with so many businesses out there you would think they would be, wouldn't you? Nevertheless, you will find, that isn't the situation. Look on the internet for the best rates, make a few phone calls and compare prices from different companies

3. Leasing a large vehicle or a car is a very parallel experience. Book your vehicle ahead of time so you don't get stuck with one that doesn't suit your needs. That way, your van will be available for you the day you move house.

4. Another item to think about is insurance, it is a excellent idea to get your own insurance. Driving a larger transport vehicle is quite unalike than the one you're used to. If you make a gaffe and have an accident then this could be very pricey A few minutes of your time and a few dollars can make all the difference in relation to your tension levels.

5. When renting a vehicle for a day or two make sure you give yourself plenty of time to load, drive to your new house and unload it before it needs to be returned. The motive for doing this is that you don't want to return it after the cut off time. Late returns can turn out to be very expensive as rental companies charge large fees for this.

The right way to transport your car.

If you possess more than one family car, decide on how to transfer it to your new destination. You can drive it, ship it, tow it or take it on a trailer. Look at the cost of transporting it - if its not worth it then think about giving it to a relative or selling it. Make sure the vehicle is capable of towing your second car and that all safety precautions have been taken with the car to be towed. Specialized equipment will be used to tow vehicles such as boats and motorcycles, so get this sorted this well in advance. If you're uncertain on how to start with towing them, look on the internet or contact a dealer who sold it to you.
