EXTERNAL PILES OR HEMORRHOIDS Treating external piles at home is possible and there are many natural ways to address the problem. The condition of varicosity or swelling and inflammation of veins in the rectum and anus is commonly referred to in the U.K. as piles. It is also known as haemorrhoids or hemorrhoids in the United States. The two most common types are external piles and internal piles. Try to get into regular bathroom habits Poor bathroom habits; sitting for unusually long periods of time, e.g. reading on the toilet or excessive cleaning attempts. Piles can present during pregnancy Dehydration: drink plenty of water throughout the day to ensure the stools do not become hard. Too much pressure on the rectal veins due to poor posture or muscle tone. Obesity and a sedentary lifestyle may cause hemorrhoids. Look to improve your posture and get more exercise!
