Add class and style to your home with egress window wells. You can customize everything in your home right down to the last tile, yet don’t feel as though your window wells have to look bland and out of place with your magnificent handiwork. When you make your decision to go with a customized window well you can have a stone texture that truly looks and feels like real stone. These window wells add great curb appeal and an aesthetically pleasing view from the inside out. Safety is the most important reason for installing a basement egress window well. In the unfortunate event of an emergency, occupants will be able to safely leave the basement, or else emergency crews that respond to the incident can enter the basement with relative ease. It is very necessary to install good quality basement wells for many reasons. Good quality basement wells will provide the needed natural lighting during the day time. This saves you on the electricity charges on the lights you would switch on during the daytime in your basement. Another benefit is proper ventilation, you can get rid of that usually dank smelling basement air and get some fresh air running through your basement. Egress window wells will meet these requirements. With an egress window well you can increase the living space in your house as you will be using the basement too properly. Egress window wells are built to the building standards like the International Residential Code of 2003. The inside of the egress window well is stepped so that it can be used for a decorate purpose along with an emergency exit. As a side benefit, the large opening against the foundation of the house made by the egress window will allow you to have a scenic view in otherwise closed-in basement. The natural light adds wonderfully to the beauty of the basement and adds to the ambiance of the area. Many basement egress window wells also include tiers inside them to allow planters to be filled with plants. This also adds to the beauty of the basement. Homeowners that are thinking of remodeling a home and builders building a new home would like to have a larger living space. By meeting the building codes for basement egress a finished basement can nearly double the living area. In fact, basement living space is the most affordable living area to build in a home, so why not spruce it up so you can make the most out of your money. Another distinct advantage of the egress window wells is the extremely easy access. Naturally as time goes by there will be a build-up of leaves, and all manner of dirt and grime. By house-building standards, most window wells are poorly designed for drainage and maintenance, and unattractive to boot. The egress window wells allow for easy access to get down in there and clean to your heart’s desire. Another issue that can arise with your typical window wells is with various animals sometimes getting stuck in the window well and not being able to get out. Some people are tired of cleaning out carcasses from their window well so they resort to installing angled boards to serve as a ramp to get the animals out. To keep the well clear, you may need a cover, which can be costly, cuts off ventilation, reduces light transmission and blocks whatever view there is. The egress will take care of this situation, as it is stepped on the side and any critter will be able to hop on up the stairs and gain its furry little freedom.
