How to Get the Best Employees From the Job Market

It is the hope of every employer that he/she will get the best employees to work for him/her. This ensures that the business activities of the company are conducted effectively and more so efficiently. From the moment a job advertisement has been announced to the short listing of job applicants and conducting of interviews, the latter is of absolute importance. An employer must seek to train his interviewing personnel to identify the best job applicants.

An interviewer should be advised to avoid body language that directly sways the response of the job seeker. A good example is where the interviewer keeps on nodding his head when asking a question that requires a "yes" answer or when listening to the answers from candidates. Such nodding will prompt a desperate candidate to answer to the affirmative just for the sake of getting employed.

The other thing to avoid is asking questions that need a direct "yes" or "no" answer. Always, an interviewer should ask questions that call on the candidate to explain him/her self. The way to achieve this is by starting your questions with words like "why", "what" and "when". It is while the candidate is explaining himself/herself that an interviewer is able to adequately evaluate their capabilities and character, thus hire a good and competent worker.

Observing good interviewing techniques helps a company in increasing the chances of hiring the best workforce. Apart from only considering the academic qualifications of a job applicant, interviewing personnel should always seek find out the self esteem and confidence portrayed by each candidate self presentation.
