In May when Jim Tracy came on board and took over the Rockies, there were specific troubles that set about to straight out right away. There's no question that Tracy put in the work to help the Rockies take their game to another level. The baseball Writers' Association of America certainly thought so and awarded Tracy with the National League Manager of the Year Award. Noteworthy improvements in individual players includes Carlos Gonzalez, who went 10 for 17 and had a postseason home run, Ubaldo Jimenez who went 15 for 12 with 198 strikeouts and closed with a 3.47 ERA, Jason Hammel who closed with a 4.33 ERA and Jorge De La Rosa with a 4.38 ERA and 16-9 season finish.
