I have always closely followed US elections and debates from different candidates. They never fail to mention Israel, Pakistani, Palestine, Taliban and Hamas. I was not the only one but the whole world was watching to see who will become the US president. It is usually interesting than our elections which resulted to post election violence where thousand died, others maimed, building destroyed and many other terrible things that happened which left the economy of our country on the brink of collapse. Many people were also left homeless and became internally displaced persons in their own country while others lost their loved ones. Yet in the eyes of many it was not as interesting as the US elections. After all, this has always been a complete testimony of the nonsensical wars that have always characterized many African countries. Those who knew not our country came to know it thanks to the current US president having his roots from Kenya. But I don’t think that really matters because whoever occupies the white house virtually rules the whole world in oblivion. This means he will also become my president though unofficially. The American president or should I say my unofficial president will never accept anything less than policies that suit America interests. Whether we die of hunger, kill each other or even drown in floods, he will not care as long as it does not in any way affect the American voter. But his policies will affect me, just a few examples, the high cost of fuel and terrorism. In 1998 the US embassy in Kenya was bombed and only few Americans died but many were the Kenyans who lost their lives. These Kenyans were merely victims of US policies. Therefore it is very sad that all I can do is just sit and watch as Americans cast their votes without me.
