Vacations cost money and when it’s time to be conscious of your spending, you may consider cutting out your vacation plans altogether. Take a Paid Vacation If you have paid vacation time from your full-time job, you can also take a staycation–get paid for staying home. You can take care of household chores, spend your days at the local beach or catch up on your reading. Not only will you be cutting costs by not having to commute to work and eating lunch out, you can also use your paid vacation to earn more money. You can pick up odd jobs, work a seasonal position (such as a department store sales clerk during the holiday season) or start a small side business. Putting 10-15 hours earning additional money from another source on top of getting paid your salary can really add up. Vacations typically cost you money, but there are some creative ways you can take vacation without spending a dime and in some cases earning money at the same time. Time off is a great time to refresh, relax and re-energize but it can also be a way for you to give back to your or other communities around the globe.
