There are a number of great farmers' markets to check out while you are there. In Ryde, you might check out the one in Ryde's town square where you can find amazing local produce and a wonderful number of different fresh ingredients. There are also often foods cooked, pickled, jarred, brewed and baked by the farmers themselves. Help the local economy and sample the delights there.
