Andaman, with its splendid natural beauty and man-made marvels, has been a popular tourist destination at Indian subcontinent. Read on to know about the popular tourism attraction at this island territory.

Considered as an Emerald Island, Andaman in the Bay of Bengal is a treasure trove of splendid natural facets, which leave the travelers speechless. It looks like one of the eternities that the nature has created as paradise. The spectacular velvet blue sea here is a fascinating world of colorful marine life, and boasts some of the prettiest beaches on the earth. Additionally, it offers excellent scope for water adventure, which can give the adrenaline junkies an unforgettable treat. Snorkeling & scuba diving are most popular water sports here.

The Andaman Island is in fact an archipelago and union territory, situated over 1000km off the East coast of India. Flights and ships from Kolkata, Chennai and Visakhapatnam connect it with India. It is 219 miles long and about 32 miles wide, and combines over 570 small islands. Port Blair is the capital and the main entry gate to the island. It is the administrative center of the archipelago and is home to Tamil and Bengali Community of people.

When you come to Andaman, there are plenty of tourist attractions to explore. Some of the great attractions of Andaman tour are:

Cellular Jail: Located in port Blair, it was constructed in 1906 by the Britishers. It was used to give the Indian fighter freedom fighters a very tough conviction. This colossal building has mutely seen the atrocities borne by the freedom fighters. Now it is a National Memorial Museum, visiting there would give you a peep into rich history of India. The light and Sound Show are displayed there both Hindi and English Languages.

Corbyn’s Cove: it is about 7km from Port Blair town and is one of the captivating sea-beaches. This place is widely known for being an ideal place of sea bathing and sun basking. Not too far away from this beach is the Snake Island: a renowned Scuba diving destination. Apart from that, the other major attractions are the waver Restaurant, the Peerless Resort and the Hornbill Nest Guest House.

Havelock Island: About 50km by sea from Port Blair, Neil Island make an Idyllic resort in the lap of virgin beach. The famous Radhanagar beach here is unpolluted and a perfect place for adventure-seekers. Apart from that, you would enjoy visiting the ‘Dolphin Resort” available for the tourists. Snorkeling and Scuba diving facilities are provided seasonally.

Mahatama Gandhi National Marine Park: This Park is located about 29 km form Port Blair, made up of open sea creeks, and 15 small and large Islands. Most of the visitors at Andaman make a visit to this park to explore the rare corals and under water marine life through glass bottom boats. This place offers wonderful opportunities for diving and snorkeling.

Moreover, Samudrika, Rangat, Mount Harriet and Mayabunder are some other must-visit places at the island.
