The shore of this scintillating water body is housed by a spiritual temple which is visited by pilgrims and tourists alike. The best way to explore the best of both worlds is to hire a boatman and ask him to take you down to the temple via the lake. The Drosera plant is a special attraction. It is an insectivorous plant and grows in abundance near the shores. Punnamada Lake: Nestled in the district of Alappuzha, this lake hosts the popular Nehru trophy tournament every year. Snake boats race against each other vying for the coveted trophy. Thus, the place is immensely significant for Kerala tourism. It does not lag behind in terms of natural beauty, and enjoys panorama, breeze and greenery in plethora. Pookode Lake: This is one of the most panoramic places to visit in Kerala. The fact that hills and waterfalls surround the place makes the lake a truly hypnotic site. There is plenty of flora and fauna to be devoured, and the atmosphere is simply superbly enchanting.
