So, after 5/6 stressful days in office, you want to get away. It’s cool! Although it’s not for as long as you would love to be, a weekend break – be it two or three days – can give you a much-needed break from hectic routine. After all, something is better than nothing. Away from moth-eaten city life, you get to enjoy comfy rides, tasty foods, little adventures or funs & pleasures with your family or friends. Sounds enchanting? Obviously it does. So pack your bags, head to a nearby destination that suits mood, time schedule and budget. Here in this article, we bring you some good weekend-break choices from Indian capital Delhi. All these destinations are renowned for their unique characteristics.

Mathura: The city is the birthplace of revered Hindu God ‘Krishna’ and is a popular pilgrim site in North India. Dotted with several holy shrines, sacred kunds and lovely scenery on the bank of river Yamuna, Mathura makes a perfect choice for those inclined towards spiritualism and cultures. The city is about 147km from Delhi and is connected with smooth roads. Shri Krishna Janambhoomi Temple is the must-see attraction here; however several age-old monuments and building showcasing a unique mix of Hindu and Muslim architecture are also worth visiting.

Rishikesh: An unmatchable mix of nature, adventures and religiousness can be explored taking tour to this beautiful city. Located in the foothills of Himalaya in Indian state of Uttarakhand, Rishikesh allures thousands of travelers from Indian capital. Places of religious importance like Gita Bhavan, Nilkanth Mahadev, Lakshman Jhula and Swarga Ashram, which are situated on the bank of holy River Ganga, give visitors a sense of sheer pleasure. Besides this, Rishikesh has been a mecca for adventure-lovers, offering wonderful opportunities for white water rafting, camping, trekking and forest trailing.

Jaipur: If discovering royal legacy and cultural heritages of Rajasthan is your idea of perfect weekend break, Jaipur is best option. Well-connected to the capital city by air, rails and roads, the ‘Pink City’ is like dream comes true for history lovers. Mammoth forts, beautiful palaces and stunning monuments here are must-watch. Apart from that, lively markets and famous heritage hotels are popular attractions for travelers. Jaipur is about 270km from Delhi, and can be accessed in just 4 hours you go there by your own vehicle that many people do.

Shimla: At an altitude of about 2,200 meters, Shimla is unique with a perfect mix of history and nature. Breathtaking scenery of cloud-kissing peaks, lovely orchards & plantations, gushing streams and deep colorful valleys make a perfect holiday choice for nature-lovers.
