It’s difficult not to love caravanning. What could be better than taking your own hotel room with you wherever you go? All the comforts of having a roof over your head, combined with all the excitement and adventure of camping! Pick your caravan, get your caravan insurance, and you’re off. With the open road in front of you, the world is your caravanning oyster. Just remember to get your caravan insured by a reputable insurer. There’s been a thriving caravanning community in many different countries for many years, and, happily, this community seems to be growing every season. The more people share information about how much fun a caravanning holiday can be, the more new people want to try it. According to the Camping and Caravanning Club, a major UK based caravanning organisation, caravan holiday bookings are currently at 120% of what they were last year. There are a number of reasons that people choose to go caravanning as opposed to going on more far-flung holidays. People are increasingly talking about “stay-cations” – holidays that are spent in your own country as opposed to a foreign one. You don’t have to travel far from where you live to get away from it all. Dedicate a day to driving your caravan and you can travel quite a long distance, and won’t lose much more of your holiday time than you would if you were flying – once you take transfers into account. When you’re caravanning, you’re in control. You travel where you want, when you want – provided there’s a pitch somewhere for you to set up. So there are no flight disruptions like the ones caused by Iceland's volcanic ash cloud a while ago; the worst you’re going to have to deal with is a traffic-jam! It’s also worth remembering that it’s going to be cheaper than many long haul flights. Just don’t forget that caravan insurance before you set off.
