BlackBerry devices are manufactured by Research in Motion and all HTC Smart phones are manufactured by HTC Corporation in Taiwan. The BlackBerry phone is the one that made emails become portable and has led in this function ever since. The BlackBerry Bold and Curve phones are some of the most common phone models on the market today. HTC initially started out as a manufacturer f PDAs, but today their devices are extensive. The operating system used in each of these phones is the main difference between them. All BlackBerry devices use the BlackBerry operating system which was developed by Research in Motion in house, while HTC devices use different types of operating systems, including Windows Mobile from Microsoft and Android Mobile from Google. There are several HTC phones that do not bear the HTC brand name and this is because at first the company was just a manufacturer’ thus some have been labeled iMate, Qtek, O2, Dopod and link up with the telecommunications companies of Verizon and T-Mobile. The BlackBerry has maintained its name since the first device was released to the market. For those people or organizations that mostly rely on email services, the BlackBerry will be the best phone to use and this is because their email servers are reliable, convenient and efficient. HTC phones also offer email services, but they are not as robust as those of the BlackBerry phones. In terms of third party applications, HTC phones will be more suitable as there are many applications that are compatible with Windows Mobile; and Android Mobile applications are increasing steadily. All data traffic in BlackBerry phones must pass through either BIS or BES, meaning that you will always be using the data plan you chose, regardless of whether you are using a wireless router to connect to the internet, or connecting over the air. HTC phones do not have to connect to any sort of servers in order to be able to have an internet connection, as you will be capable of using the email services that are for free, of which are many on the internet. Apart from these features you can also look at the various BlackBerry models as well as HTC models for specific features and functionalities which may include processor speed, screen size, screen resolution, storage capacity, memory capacity, camera resolution, Wi-Fi support, GPS support and Bluetooth support, among many other types of features.
