This is because each house deals with various significations and the same set of combinations which are obtained in a particular house and they might influence the different significations which are comprehended by the house and that too in various ways. It is always said that in the study of astrology, a study of practical horoscopes is very much necessary in order to grasp the true worth of the subject and also to handle the technique in a proper way. In the study of astrology, nothing is more important than the proper study of a horoscope. The horoscope of any person consists of the twelve bhavas which are said to represent the entire history of an individual. In order to analyze a horoscope properly and thoroughly, each house or the Bhava needs to be very carefully scrutinized. Sometimes it also happens that many of the principles of the astrology which are given in standard works do not hold well in the actual free horoscope charts. The first house of the horoscope is called as the Thanu Bhava. This house deals with the beginning of life, childhood, health, environment, personality, the physical body and the character. The second house is said to represent the family, face, right eye, food, wealth, gift and manner and the source of death and optimism. The third house rules brothers and sisters, intelligence, cousins and other immediate relations. The fourth house indicates the peace of mind, home life, mother, conveyances, house property, landed and ancestral properties, education and the neck and the shoulders. The fifth house is said to indicate children, grand father, intelligence, emotions of the person and the fame. The sixth house rules over debts, diseases, enemies, miseries, sorrows, illness and disappointments. The seventh house represents wife, husband, marriage, urinary organs, martial happiness, sexual diseases, business partner, diplomacy, talent, energies and the general happiness. The eighth house indicates longevity, legacies and gifts and unearned wealth and also the cause of death, disgrace, degradation and also the details pertaining to the death. The ninth house indicates father, righteousness, preceptor, grandchildren, intuition, religion, sympathy, fame, charities, leadership, journeys and communications with the spirits. The tenth house indicates the occupation, profession, temporal honors, foreign travels, self respect, knowledge and dignity and the means of livelihood. The eleventh house indicates the means of the gains, elder brother and also the freedom from misery. The twelfth house rules the losses, the expenditure and the waste, extravagance, the sympathy, divine knowledge, the mosksha and the state of the person after death. It must always be remembered that all the twelve houses have a reference to the material relation of the soul in its journey from the cradle to the grave of the person.
