In the coming decades, theoretic studies began to be published, and Arthur C. Clarke described in detail the use of such satellites in communications in 1945, 12 years before the first satellite arrived in Earth's orbit. On the 4th of October, 1957, the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, followed by Sputnik 2, on the 3rd of November, same year, with the first living passenger to ever travel into Earth's orbit, as we know - the dog named Laika. On the 31st of January, 1958, the United States launched Explorer 1, and the rest of it is history, taking us to the present day... ...when over 2000 satellites are in orbit! This takes us to what I have in mind - satellite images, live, on my computer!
