To start, I am not good at golf. I just started playing again about 2 months ago (april 2013). I have always struggled with my driver mainly because I didn't know the proper mechanics of the swing and setup. Needless to say, after a few lessons, I opted to upgrade from my Ping G20 driver to something current. Thinking it would cure my troubles, my mind was set on gettting the latest and greatest driver out there. I wanted something with a lot of forgiveness and good distance. After trying the a few TaylorMades and a Cobra Amp, I found the G20 to have the best feel and sound for me. I also hit the fairway more times on the screen than the Best TaylorMade RocketBallZ Driver. Distance is generated with a new version of Ping's proprietary high-balance-point shaft technology, which allows the golfer to swing a heavier clubhead at the same speed with a high moment of inertia. The G20 Driver pushes distance towards the limit with out sacrificing forgiveness over tee by utilizing another weight that optimizes the middle of gravity position to build high launch and low spin. The G20's large, variable-thickness face generates faster ball speeds and increases MOI for optimum forgiveness. I knew the club head was throughout the swing, but it never felt lagging or too heavy. The club seemed to cut through the air like a knife; a reference to the improved aerodynamics of the club. The performance was outstanding; I hit 5 consecutive drives like it was on a frozen rope and the distance was long. For me, I hit the standard TFC 169D shaft a little high for my liking and could probably benefit from the lower launch/spin TFC 169D Tour shaft. I recently went to he range and this cheap golf clubs didn't disappoint. I consistently his balls dead straight and long. From tee to back net at the range is 280 yds. I was driving the ball just short of the net . I was really amazed. I am going for my first round of golf tomorrow at Lake Arlington GC in Arlington, TX, so that will be my true test.
