There are many popular types of modern housings in the Philippines today, and one of the most popular, according to many real estate experts, are condominiums and condominium complexes. So what are condominiums and condominium complexes? What are the differences between these two types of condominiums? And what made these types of housings popular and modern? What are Condominiums? The term condominium is used in housing tenure to distinguish a type of house or an apartment unit in which each house in a community or a unit in an apartment building is individually owned, while the rest of the community or building, including its facilities, are jointly owned by all the owners. Eventually, the term condominium was used to define a type of housing with such type of ownership. Two Types of Condominiums There are two types of condominiums available in the Philippines, condominiums and condominium complexes. Condominiums are types of condominiums which are mostly found in the city which is similar to apartment buildings in appearance. The difference, however, is with its type of ownership. Condominium complexes, on the other hand, are similar to subdivisions, in which multiple mid-rising and high-rising buildings are found in exclusive communities or complexes. Differences One main difference between condominiums and condominium complexes is its location. Most condominiums are found in business and commercial districts, such as in Makati City, while condominium complexes are mostly found around the outskirts of Metro Manila as well as in a number of popular provinces around the capital. In addition to its location, another difference between these two types of condo in Philippines is its benefits. While condominiums in the city caters mostly to the needs of those who spends most of their time at work rather than in their homes, condominium complexes specialize in providing the best and suitable environment for growing children by giving them security, privacy, and the serenity of its location. Similarities There are, however, similarities between condominiums and condominium complexes other than just its type of ownership. Both types of modern Philippines properties are known to offer amenities, such as their own security and maintenance personnel. In addition to that, condominiums and condominium complexes are also known for their collection of modern facilities, such as swimming pools, gyms, and sports complex, though condominium complexes may offer additional facilities such as recreational parks and playgrounds for their younger residents
