Your dog can sleep, sit, stand and move around comfortably with this size. You must see to it that you are choosing the correct dog crate that is durable and can present comfort to your dog. Moreover, its door should be simple to lock and unlock to avoid hassles when securing the dog in or taking him out.

The next thing to be deemed on how to crate train a puppy is to let him be familiar with his crate little by little. In accordance with the dog experts' statements, doing this would help your dog become secure to his new home. Allow the puppy/dog to stay inside the crate for couple of hours. If the crate has enough space inside, then just get in as well. The third tip on how to crate train a dog properly is to feed him inside the crate. Hence, there must be a pail and a stainless steel cup beside his crate where you can put his food and water. Furthermore, the crate must serve as your pet's sleeping quarter. The first few days of crate training usually involves whining and crying of your pet. Being firm would be crucial here particularly if the dog starts to bark and make disobedient moves. Saying ‘no' would be a great move, and make him go back to sleep. You are his leader, so make him observe what you say.

The fourth consideration in crate training is to let your pet remain inside the crate if you are not around or just staying home. If you are just in your own home, then try to check him every now and then. Get back in less than an hour if you're planning to go out. Allow him to out of the crate for him to take time fiddling around once you got home.
