Veronica Hearst is quite famous in high circles of American society for her active involvement in humanitarian and charity organizations. Veronica Hearst’s effective role as a chairman of National Awards program for AFTA cannot be neglected. She has offered her services as a chairman of National Awards program for AFTA since 1998. Mrs. Hearst’s zeal for the arts is clearly revealed and illuminated by her services to this organization. This group, National Awards Programs, with in AFTA recognizes appreciates and highlights all the remarkable achievements of admirable Americans in the visual or performing arts, philanthropy, arts education corporate giving and advocacy. Besides AFTA, her dedication and commitment towards arts is best reflected by her efforts for the safe guard and renovation of hundreds of places of historical importance. Since the inception of new Metropolitan Museum of Arts she has provided a profound support to the museum and has also been a member of the committee of photography for 15 years. The restoration of the Walker Evans Archive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is a collection that was considered among the most endangered places in U.S, is also assisted by Mrs. Hearst. Veronica Hearst has also been actively involved with White House Millennium Council. The main objectives and motives of this council are to conserve the history of U.S for the coming generations of America by recognizing, medaling and appreciating the eminent cultural and scientific contributions which Americans have made in 20th century. In a nut shell Veronica Hearst’s contributions for the promotion, preservation, appreciation and accomplishment of arts among Americans will never be forgotten.
