Since there are a large percentage of people who do not explore beyond the sites that they are familiar with, and most visitors wont return to a site is a good indication that a webmaster must design their site to encourage return visits. Combine these statistics with the knowledge that most people purchase from sites they visit regularly it is easy to see how return visitors is a fundamental of popular sites. There are easy methods to maintain visitors. They include the following: 1.) High quality content: Find your niche market and write for them. Write articles that are news worthy, interesting and help market demographic. If you readers enjoy your articles and they are updated regularly they will return. 2.) Ease of Use: Do not make your site confusing and complex. The more difficult it is for users to entertain themselves on your site the less likely they will return. 3.) Download Time: Everyone thinks that graphics are wonderful. However, the downside is that if the site takes a long time to load, your files requires considerable time to pass, etc. people will find a better avenue. 4.) Frequently update: In conjunction with great content is adding content regularly. Visitors like to see new content when they come back. The more you change it the more likely they are to return. 5.) Rewards, Contests, and Incentives: It may sound silly but if you offer your visitors free stuff from contests and reward you will likely be able to maintain them.
