In the third millennium, cloud computing, social business networks, mobile devices, and Citrix solutions have turned IT environments into sensitive ecosystems. However, panagenda software still allows for proactive IT management Nowadays IT infrastructures have grown to some kind of data jungles. New technologies, such as cloud computing or mobile devices, have not only picked up communication, coordination, and cooperation to a very new level, but also the complexity, diversity and quantity of the underlying data. This data jungles are causing headaches for IT stuff, particularly in IBM Notes Domino environments, which have been well known in companies working group-orientated across spatial and temporal distances since the early days of collaborate software. It makes no difference if one is working in first level support, or managing the whole IT department, the blown up complexity, diversity and quantity of former "ones and zeros" are complicating working lives desperately. "IT" in general has become too abstract to be operated by human beings exclusively. "Fact based decisions can hardly be taken due to a commandingly intransparency. There is kind of a compulsion to manage IT reactionary instead of proactively, which often goes hand in hand with various interactions and side effects", Florian Vogler, CEO of panagenda, assays. "IT environments are edging away from the target on and on. Without extensive monitoring, it can hardly be perceived before the whole company’s productivity has been suffering from this". panagenda identified these evolutions at a very early stage and has been developing problem-orientated infrastructure solutions to fight against this growing helplessness of administrators and developers. Their product range has recently been expanded with a comprehensive business analytics solution, for localizing origins of problems and analyzing virtually all impacts of infrastructure changes in advance. One doesn't even have to know and understand the infrastructure in detail, since "iDNA provides not only answers, but also all relevant questionings", claims Franz Walder, iDNA and GreenLight product manager at panagenda. Correlations between different IT components have reached an enormous high level of entanglement. To untangle these complex correlations humans definitely need computer assistance. In short, iDNA makes the effects of changes inside an infrastructure predictable again, no matter if one wants to consolidate servers, deploy client hotfixes/fixpacks or replace (mobile) devices. Once (potential) problems are identified, they can be avoided with panagenda software solutions, too. MarvelClient not only helps to avoid issues, but also to push your infrastructure (on the client-level). It is the flagship in terms of IBM Notes client management. The client is not only the interface between end-users and applications, but also the framework in which most of the new technologies have been integrated. Today end-users are working on mobile devices more and more frequently. Therefore more and more applications need to be accessible via web browsers. However, web-enablement of IBM Notes databases requires enormous efforts – especially translating work. A majority of this translating work can be processed by panagenda's Notes2Web. But before that, a thorough analysis of the inflated IBM Notes applications is advisable, since usually too many developers have been inflating them over years. Hence inventory of database elements, analysis of the code, and completion of the documentation can save a lot of efforts up front. Both GreenLight, a sophisticated server monitoring solution, and SmartChanger, an intelligent solution to handle Domino name changes, are focused on the server-level to span across all of IT. While GreenLight automates monitoring of Connections activities or the server's performance, security and health, SmartChanger supports infrastructures to execute (name) changes across the whole environment (including Sametime) automatically – as a result, IT-departments can concentrate on keeping infrastructures at the state-of-the-art.
