Doyle Brunson or "Texas Dolly" . The player no longer needs no introduction, his name became synonymous with poker. He was born on August 10, 1933 in Longworth, Texas and still take part in big poker tournaments but also the high stakes tables hosted the largest casinos in LasVegas. Now aged 77 years continues to write the history of modern poker with great results and when this takes place at the table. He won over 10 career WSOP bracelets and is the first player who has earned $ 1,000,000 for winning a poker tournament, but his story is more than impressive and unrivaled results obtained. So he attended the University Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, Texas, during which he played basketball and had the chance to become a great player. This chance was wasted, but after a knee injury. After graduating he took a degree in administrative sciences and worked as a consultant for a period of car sales. It was not long though and gave up the job and started playing poker full time. In the time poker was a game not legal, so parties were held in secret, and opponents were often people in conflict with the law.Doyle Brunson confesses that not infrequently he was threatened with death or beaten and robbed as a result of such parties. There was a crazy period in which Doyle and his friends bet on "Just About Anything," as he says, and it was time to set in Las Vegas, where he lost all the money raised by that time. For Brunson, but failure was not only an incentive, being determined to reach the best. In the late '60s changed the situation, begin to play organized, and poker start to be seen with different eyes. For Doyle is a series of competitions that ranks among the best poker players in the world. The 1970 WSOP is held the first edition (which was attended by seven players, all in the book of poker legend Johnny Moss, Amarillo 'Slim' Preston, Sailor Roberts, Doyle Brunson, Puggy Pearson, Crandell Addington and Carl Cannon). At that time, the winner was voted by the others he called opponents and Johnny Moss. But its inclusion, among the seven players invited to this tournament comes as a confirmation that the name Doyle Brunson already had a special resonance in the game rooms in LasVegas. It was just the beginning, because in 1976 WSOP winner (and vote) was called Doyle Brunson. And next year the same! Besides the two titles supreme, still managed to win a tournament eight times in the WSOP circuit. Ten bracelet, a performance they can boast only two players: Johnny Chan (also 10) and absolute champion, Phil Hellmuth (11). Even if he has a career crowned with success, life gave him great champion not only beautiful things. After several years, was diagnosed with cancer but won. A few years later, his wife received the same diagnosis and also beat the disease. He even managed to overcome the pain of losing her daughter aged 18, when she accidentally swallowed a lethal dose of potassium. Today is one of the most respected people in the gaming industry and is sure to be successful at poker, a player must not care about money at all: 'To be successful at poker, a player must ignore completely the financial aspect. " Doyle believes that any hand can be turned into a winning hand regardless of the player cards in their possession. In poker, it matters most how you play a hand, and not the cards you receive.
