Hemophilia is one of the disorders that is inherited by one from their ancestors. Some people are born with this disorder. Normally, if a person gets injured, the blood clotting factors become active within few minutes. What is Bleeding disorder, What is Hemophilia? Well, it is actually a disorder in which blood may not clot quickly or it might also take longer time to clot. What is hemophilia? Clotting depends on proteins and platelet present in our body. Proteins and platelets work together to help in blood clot during any injury. If a person's blood does not clot within normal time, then the reason could be low platelet count in the body. The bleeding because of this disorder, can be internal or external. It can be very dangerous if there is internal bleeding, as it can be a threat on life. This disorder is mostly found in males than in females. Females very rarely have bleeding disorder because they have two pair of chromosomes in their body while males have only one. A woman can have this disorder only if they inherit it from parents or by mutation. People of any age and area can have such disease. The major symptoms found in people with such disorders are nose bleeds, bleeding in joints and sever bleeding after any injury, blood in biological wastes, and so on. This disorder can be diagnosed by physical examine and blood tests. Beside the complexity of the disease, this can be treated to reduce the risks. Some of the treatments available are: replacement therapy or demand therapy. Replacement therapy can be done periodically or during excess bleeding. Demand therapy is cheaper than replacement therapy. These therapies can be used to treat this disease properly by reduce the risk on life. If there is a delay in the treatment, it can affect various joints and muscles of our body. Delay in treatment may cause redness, pain and swelling of the joints and may also changes the shape of the joint. So, considering the complexity of the disease, one should not delay the treatment for such disorders, as it may affect and destroy joints in your body. Though, this disorder cannot be cured completely, yet, it can be treated to reduce the risks and threat on life, hence it is advisable to get your checkup done regularly if you find symptoms related to this disease.
