Are under eye circles bothering you? Would you like to get rid of these permanently? Dark circles under your eyes can make you look older and can even make you look tired and weary even when you are not. If you are fed up with placing cakes of makeup under your eyes then follow these simple steps to get rid of these unsightly imperfections permanently:

1. Assess your current situation- address the main reason why you have dark circles under your eyes in the first place. Experts believe that it is mostly caused by little or lack of sleep so resolve to take more naps or extend your sleeping hours during the weekends. Remember to remove all eye and face makeup plus cleanse your face well just before you go to bed to allow your skin to breathe as you rest.

2. Take your daily vitamins and minerals – under eye circles may be reduced when you take the ideal amounts of vitamins and minerals; you must eat more fruits and vegetables especially foods that are rich in vitamin K and B12. These vitamins help make blood healthier and circulate better and thus may reduce dark circles from forming under your eyes.

3. Hydrate in and out – needless to say you need to hydrate your skin from the inside aside from applying skin moisturizers and creams. Drink more than 8 to 12 glasses of fluids a day and possibly more during hot and humid weather. Hydrating the skin is also a good idea. You may apply cool slices of cucumber on your eyes or you may place a small damp towel over your eyes when you take a nap or a rest. Other ways to make skin under the eyes less puffy and dark are placing a cold spoon under your eyes, using potato slices or damp tea bags over your eyes.

4. Address your allergies – allergy experts believe that one reason why you wake up with puffy and dark eyes are allergies. Your eyes become watery and inflame as well as your nostrils swell when you have allergies in the evening; you must resolve to clean and dust the area near your bed to control allergies. You may also use a saline solution to irrigate your nostrils if you fell that they are congested. You may also take anti histamines to control allergies; consult your doctor for an ideal allergy solution for you.

There are some women who may suffer from slight makeup or cosmetic allergies which create under eye circles. The best way to pick cosmetics is to do a skin patch test first before purchasing. If you have sensitive skin, consult your dermatologist for the ideal cosmetic line for your skin.

5. Control stress and anxieties – any type of stress and anxiety may lead to sleeplessness or insomnia so deal with these so you can remove under eye circles. Talk to your doctor for the ideal stress relief remedy for your condition. You may try dealing with stress at home with the use of relaxation activities like yoga, massage, water therapy or listening to soft music before you sleep. When you address and control anxiety and remove stress, then you may be able to prevent under eye circles as well.
