It is very true that the more information you have at your disposal, the better informed you become allowing you to make better decisions. It is common practice for many Americans to blindly believe what we are being told via the media sources, when in fact the real truth is that some of the reporting has very little real truth and is easily disputed when we make the effort to investigate the facts for ourselves. This story has found a home in our national consciousness and for decades we have allowed this point of view to become the undisputed truth without question. However, a recent documentary movie called Sicko is beginning to change the direction of the tide. It is stocked with interviews of doctors and medical professional and patients worldwide that are currently using the socialized medical system as their primary health care system with little to no complaints. Doctors are pleased with the way they are treated by the government, knowing they will be compensated fairly for services rendered. Being able to see a doctor for any condition at any time without any red tape associated with the income of the individual is one of the things that patients really like about the socialized medical care system. They can choose what doctor they will see for treatment or consultation and the whole routine is without hesitation; they receive the care they need and are sent on their way. It would seem that the only losers are those in other types of medical care systems and plans and clearly the real winners in the U.S. care system are those who refuse to consider any changes that will bring health care cost down to a affordable level, which they are fiercely refusing to do. The old arguments that government run health care doesn't work well or serve the people well, is getting pretty tried and lame.
