The meaning of “ascension” is purely a subjective term. Ascension has many meanings depending on who you ask. Most people assume ascension has a relationship with other spiritual “hot words” like “enlightenment” and “illumination”. We usually ascribe these terms to spiritual teachers and gurus who appear to have a strong apprehension of higher wisdom or esoteric knowledge. Some people in the spiritual community believe “The Ascension” is a process of moving out of 3D reality into a 4D or 5D existence. They say it is a transformational process where humans lose their physical constraints, and become angelic beings of pure and love light. In my opinion, ascension is the act of stepping out of the illusion of duality. Duality is the process of comparing and contrasting a person, object or situation that exists outside ourselves with the use of labels. Duality is a way of describing our personal view of reality. We use terms such as fast and slow, hot and cold, ugly and beautiful, good and bad, fat and thin, heavy and light, large and small, as a way of interpreting or measuring the conditions that exist outside of our minds. In mysticism, duality is known as the Law of Polarity. This law indicates that we interpret of experiences in terms of extremes, as a matter of degree, on an infinite and unbroken continuum. Mystics see ascension as the act of rising above the wild swing of the duality pendulum. This allows the mystic to step out of the matrix of duality. The mystic then gains a sense of self-mastery over his mind, and the situations he or she encounters in the physical world. Stepping out of the illusion duality means a person is no longer subject to the entrapments of material reality such as “good versus evil” or “us versus them”. The mystic tries to view everything that occurs in the outer world from a neutral space. The mystic attempts to approach every situation in an unbiased and non-judgmental manner. This means the mystic has the clarity of mind to see through the illusions of the world. This the purest form of objectivity. This practice is called being the independent observer and having a “total perspective”. It’s having a perspective of the world from a bird’s eye vantage point, rather than a street-level view. An example of total perspective is seeing “you” as a spectator in a theatre watching yourself acting out a story on a movie screen. You are no longer in the drama story you are watching. You now have the opportunity to choose your actions and determine the outcome of the story being played out. The mystic refrains from indulging in the dramas and controversies of their society. The mystic does not unconsciously or carelessly take sides in a dispute or disagreement. Instead, the mystic chooses to use discernment and wisdom in his or her decision-making, and in taking up a position on a particular issue. Stepping of out of the illusion of duality is an act of personal sovereignty. It is a way of taking responsibly of one’s reality manifesting ability. It removes the victim mentality and empowers the individual to take positive action over life’s tests and challenges. Letting go of dualistic concepts also takes an individual out of reaction mode, and allows the person to give a clear pre-meditated response to every situation. Some people call this principle “sacred neutrality”, “zero point”, or “point of singularity”. Typically, the concept of sacred neutrality is taken to mean that there is no up or down, or left or right. There is only a greater understanding of reality, an enlightened perspective, and a profound sense of transcended consciousness. Perhaps ascension could be re-defined “trans-ascension”. Oftentimes, all parties to a dispute have valid points and claims. In most cases, there is usually more than one or two versions of “the truth”. There may be no right or wrong in a given situation. The mystic examines the circumstances of a particular situation with a sovereign mind and forms his or her own opinions and conclusions. A mystic might decide it is not useful to “take sides” with other people in midst of a controversy. A mystic may choose to take action or no action based on their assessment. From this powerful position, the mystic can find practical solutions to a difficult situation. The mystic may also take no action and allow the situation to resolve itself. It’s possible the mystic has decided no problem exists, as there is a reason for everything in the divine plan of the universe. So, in a sense, ascension could be considered transcending the confines of self-imposed societal paradigms. Therefore, an “ascended master” could be a person who sees through the illusions of life and has a greater or large perspective on the events occurring outside themselves. A person who is deemed by others to be a “spiritual master” does not mean the person is intellectually or spiritually superior. It means the person has awakened from the mental prison of their dark matrix. The mystic’s attachment to individuality dissolves. They begin see their own personality as part of the ocean of consciousness of the universe, so all other beings are experienced as part of their own vital essence. In a sense, a person who has attained sense of non-self, transcends the ego-centric view of identity. This allows the person to be instilled with the experience of “oneness consciousness” and of an acute understanding the equality and sovereignty of all living creatures. The mystic now has the opportunity to create their lives from a very different vantage point. They can choose to tune their own mental frequency to that of others. It’s like tuning a radio dial to get the clearest possible signal. This gives them a better of understanding of other people’s mental state and unique circumstances. In doing so, the mystic brings themselves into alignment and harmony with the energetic vibrations resonating from all other beings.
