The Blackberry Playbook is designed with several applications that ensure the users have an easy time operating the Smartphone. Thee applications are designed to perform various commands and there are several of them which are available on the internet for downloading. On the launch day of the Blackberry Playbook there were about 3,000 applications that were available with the number having gone up by now. However some of these applications were only designed to be used with a PC and not a touch screen device and this meant that they won’t respond when you touch them. RIM which is the main company that supplies Blackberry dev ices has also stated that they have received submissions from brands like Sports Illustrated, Atari, The Weather Channel and Huffington Post of about 3,000 new applications that will help in fleshing out the application catalog of the Blackberry Playbook. The company has also gone on record by saying they will in the future be supporting Android applications which will greatly increase the number of applications that will be supported by the Playbook. It is estimated that there are two million BlackBerry PlayBook apps downloads daily ranging from those designed for business, gaming, entertainment as well as social networking purposes. It is impossible to mention each of the applications one by one and so we will only mention a few. One of the BlackBerry PlayBook features is the Adode Connect which is a video conferencing tool. This applications functions by hooking into your Wi-Fi as well as the camera through both the front and back rears in order to provide you with a flexible way which you can conduct chat through video VoIP in order to conduct important business meetings with your clients or associates no matter your location. This application will require you to sign up that will cost you although you can first choose to use the 30 day classic trial. Poynt is another application you can download for your playbook. This application provides you with information on most of the establishments around you and this will include petrol stations, supermarkets, cinemas, restaurants, hospitals and many others. The application also allows you to book tickets as well as tables. Playdoom is another application you can use with your playbook which is available as shareware for free. Need for Speed Undercover is also available on the Playbook and it is regarded as the slickest gaming application on this device. BlackBerry PlayBook software updates should be downloaded and installed to ensure all the applications are working properly at all times.
