Have you ever had trouble training your dog to follow directions? We're going to demonstrate to you today how to teach him in a lazy manner and consistently get results. Getting the dog to focus on us is our first job. How often have you heard someone call their dog but never heard anything back? Therefore, call your dog by name in a soft voice without yelling, and if he looks at you, praise him by saying, "Good!" and give him a treat. Repeat this numerous times, sometimes skipping the reward. We don't want a chubby dog that simply acts in ways to get food. Once the dog has successfully completed this exercise numerous times, we may make it more difficult by asking him to focus for a longer period of time—perhaps 15 seconds—before rewarding him. It's advisable to ignore your dog if he approaches you to investigate if you have any goodies hidden. Once we've accomplished this, we may practice shouting his name and getting people's attention in other settings and with various family members. Just make sure that the person in charge is the one who bestows the praise and rewards. The first step in teaching your dog to perform practically anything is to call his name and consistently get a response. Once you have his attention, you may go on to the next stage of training. Use your dog's name every time, from feeding time to going for walks. However, be careful with the goodies and gradually attempt to reduce their amount as a special reward.
