Teaching preschool kids is not an easy task. One must be energetic and innovative and patient in order to hook young learners. And a teacher can do that by playing games or sometimes even through songs. As most of us would agree, young learners can be quite a difficult lot to manage. They love to play and the best way to teach them is through activity songs. Teaching young learners can become easier with activity songs. This is how. You can start by playing music. Suppose the song is “When you are happy and you know it,” you can ask the class to enact the song. That is a classic case of activity song, something that you pick up at preschool teachers training. Then there are other activities that can be picked up through songs. For instance, you can play a song in class and call out “freeze.” Every time you call out freeze, the students will stop. This is not only a fun activity but also help kids love school. In fact, this is one of the best ways of teaching preschool kids. A teacher can also help children pick up art through musical activities. For instance, you can play music and then ask the children to draw whatever comes to their mind. In preschool teachers training, they also teach you to involve children in other activities. For instance, if a child has finished drawing, you can ask him to sing out what he has drawn. It could be a “red ball” or “a green tree and a hut.” All this will instil a dose of creativity in the children. After all, creativity is something that should be encouraged at all times. A teacher can also give an idea about different types of songs and then play “memory games” with the children to enhance memory. Teaching preschool kids also becomes easy with storytelling. You can sing two paragraphs of a song and then ask the children to tell a story related to it. This improves both memory and creativity. You can also make musical instruments with household items.
