Our newly-transferred neighbor invited us to a banquet last week for them to make friends with the people in the neighborhood. I met some of the people in the whole block and chatted with them. I shared a bit of information about myself to this new neighbor. I never mentioned about my interests; however, I was surprised when she rang me two days ago and asked if she could take some of my free time for a tutorial on how to make A4 card having learned that the A4 cards are my best sellers. I kept silent for a while and thought that perhaps some of my neighbors shared with her about my hobby in making cards as well as the little business that I have. Although this isn’t a secret, still, I am hesitant for I haven’t handled any tutorial on this hobby. Gaining courage, I finally acceded with the request of my new neighbor. Until yesterday, she visited me bringing her two little girls along with her – one was aged nine and the other was about six years old. She told me that she would pay for the tutorials but I said that would be for free for anyway, I was free then and I am not an experienced tutor at all. First, I introduced to them the benefits that can be obtained through card making and later on showed them different card sizes. The girls chose the A4 cards that I kept beneath all the other cards. They requested me to teach them how to make those A4 cards. I brought some A4 sized sheets and gave the girls and their mom as well one each. Next, I gave them some designs to follow and drew a simple flower in the middle of the sheet. Then we proceeded with the color session. They made their own versions and colored their drawings too. After, I told them to write a simple dedication like ‘Happy Birthday!’ on the sheet and have it on their desired color too. The girls were truly delighted when I put some additional artwork on the sides as borders. They shouted with glee when they saw what they were able to make – nicely colored A4 cards! After their tutorials I was able to share some moments my new friends and they bought some of my card too. We made an arrangement to have tutorials with the girls on the weekends, which will be then for a fee.
