Instructions 1 Get a cell phone that can connect to the Internet. Any cell phone provider, such as AT&T, Verizon or Sprint, will sell you one with an unlimited data plan. This will allow you to have your GPS on at all times without incurring any extra fees. 2 Look for a GPS program. There are several you can download for free. Programs to consider include Instamapper, Mologogo and BuddyWay. 3.Create a user name, password and enter your cell phone number and an email address into the site that you have chosen to work with. You will receive a text message, allowing you to download the GPS software. 4 Go to the URL provided. Download, and install the GPS software. Restart your phone. 5 Go to the main menu on your phone, and open "Applications." Select "GPS Software," and open it. You will see a map with a red blinking dot. As you move, the dot on the map will move, as well. 6 Log on to your computer, and go to the website where you registered. You will see the same map with the same dot on it.
