It was a time for RIM to reinvent itself, in order to stay afloat in this ever competitive market. With the launch of BB10, RIM seemed to have done the obvious. Moreover it went a step ahead by changing its company name from RIM to Blackberry. BB10 is the last shot of Blackberry to capture the market it lost to Android and iOS, and it seems that the Canadian company has pulled out a miracle. The new OS has generated a lot of positive reviews from various tech companies, with many even slating that Blackberry is back on the road of innovation. Blackberry has always been known to be the first smartphone that hit the market, but over the years it lost its edge to competitors. Earlier the company was of the view that smartphones essentially have only one role i.e. Communication and all other applications are basically bloatwares. At the launch of the OS, there were more than 70,000 applications in the blackberry app store, which is a promising figure. Blackberry also went ahead and guaranteed $10,000 revenue to any developer that would build application for the platform. The sleek OS with blackberry hub, blackberry flow and most importantly blackberry bridge have put the platform back in the league with the others. There are also various tools provided for mobile application development by blackberry, which makes it very easy for developers to port their application from other platforms. Blackberry Hub: It is basically a unified inbox on BB10, which makes life easy for the users. It simplifies that way users can manage their email accounts, and various social networking feeds. Blackberry Flow: There are no physical or navigation buttons on blackberry. Instead it uses its edges to move from one screen to another.Blackberry App developers can use these gestures to makes the users experience of the users more intuitive. Blackberry Bridge: Blackberry has always been known to be an enterprise phone with major emphasis being laid on corporate clientele. With blackberry bridge, the company took it to another level by providing two different identities to the smartphone. With just a click the blackberry can transform itself from a work phone to personal phone. IT uses two different profiles and the data that is kept separately on both. Overall BB10 looks a lot promising and developers are already turning to the platform to develop applications.
