There are many different tips that an individual can use to create an informative and effective PowerPoint presentation. One of the first tips that can be given is to ensure that the presentation does not look the same as the general format that everyone is used to. It is possible to create a unique and professional presentation simpler than most people think. Utilizing the proper software tools, an individual can create a presentation that allows them to put their best talents forward. There are three different elements that should be included when creating the presentation. Including these elements will also save time because it provides a basic guideline for the structure. The first element is to grab each viewer’s attention, make sure your ideas and information are being clearly communicated and stay in control of the presentation. Each presenter can grab the viewer’s attention by creating slides that utilize the space effectively, choosing graphics or charts that will relay the exact points that they are trying to make. An individual can also consider grabbing the viewers’ attention by creating their own unique themes. PowerPoint has templates with designs to assist the user with the right coordinated look. The user can change the font type, font sizes, and background colors. Using these templates as a starting point, the user can modify and create personalized themes that will create a special branding for each presentation. Another very effective tip that should be used by an individual is to use video and audio to communicate the message. This type of presentation is much more effective. The audience is also more receptive to this type of dynamic content. Although these videos may be very brief clips, it is an excellent tool that should be used to engage the audience. They can also enforce vital points when the subject matter includes persuasive content. The features in PowerPoint 2010, gives the user the capability of inserting files that can be embedded by default. Therefore, each user does not have to include additional files to share their presentations electronically. Using custom animations can assist with transitioning from one slide to anther slide. Graphics that appears when the individual needs them is a very nice added touch. However, these techniques should not be overused because they can also distract the viewers from the content. All of the different effects that are included in these packages can be explored but should be used only when appropriate.
