Allow me to share a story from my virtual networking days on Bumble. I once met a woman who was originally from California. After exchanging some messages on the app. We decided to continue our conversation over the phone. We went through the usual networking ice breaker, the initial “what do you do” portion of the conversation. After I shared my story, she told me that she works for a travel company and suggested I tell my readers about it. At first I was a bit confused why she would suggest that, especially since we just started getting to know each other and she never asked a single question about the people on my list. So I did a little bit of research and found out she was involved in a MLM type business. Of course. It all made sense now. So I told her that wasn’t going to happen and I gave her my reason, which went something along the lines of this: There’s a reason why my readers signed up for my daily emails, and that is to read and learn about email copywriting related things. What would my readers think if they received a random travel related email from me one day? I can't speak for everyone, but I’m sure there would be at least some confused people when they open it. And so the point? It’s not ok to just email your list about anything. And the emails on your email lists are not just digital entities that you just take money from. They’re real people. People who chose to receive your emails for a specific reason. And on my list, they’re business owners who are looking to learn or improve their email copywriting. So if you’re on my list for that reason, then that’s what I’m going to provide. People on my list also get free sample chapters of my $20 retail value book, "How to Become an Email Titan."
